Miss Wonderful

If you've been a follower of my blog ever since it was formerly known as "An Atlantan Bride" then you know that I constantly referred to my now husband as "Mr. Wonderful". When I got married and posted the very first picture of that special moment when we became husband and wife many of you congratulated me on becoming "Mrs. Wonderful". Well, now that we have a little girl on the way, guess what her daddy found for her....

Is this not the cutest thing?!?!?! Although we've put the breaks on buying any more clothes for little Ilah, we couldn't leave this hanging on the rack - we just HAD to buy this for her!!

Here are a few of the cute little hats that I ordered, and received, from Etsy that match this little long sleeve onsie perfectly....

And then there's this pink hat adorned with a large frilly pink flower....

Today I am 31 weeks pregnant. We're getting closer to the finish line!! We can't wait to meet our precious Miss Wonderful!!

Plates for Thanksgiving Made Pretty

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away. Wow, how time flies. I told my husband today that Thanksgiving should be in October so that it's not so close to Christmas {that way the Christmas holiday has more time to be enjoyed!}. In my family we had a tradition of putting up our Christmas tree and decor the day after Thanksgiving. We didn't waste any time getting into the spirit of "the most wonderful time of the year".

Although I still love Christmas time, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday {well...I love New Years Eve too!}. Thanksgiving, to me, is a more intimate holiday that focuses on reflecting on all that there is to be thankful for and is a time in which the "presence of people" rather than tangle "presents" takes precedence. Aside from these reasons, I love welcoming in the transition of fall - I love the crispness in the air, the changing of the leaves, the aroma of lit cinnamon spice candles, homemade desserts, and great conversation with family and friends gathered around a table.

As a newly married woman, I have yet to host a Thanksgiving dinner - it will happen in due time. But I sure do love browsing for beautiful ideas that make Thanksgiving day all the more memorable. Do you plan to fancy up your table for Thanksgiving? If so, take a look at these ideas that take a plate to a whole new pretty place...

The Amount of Water I Consume

I suppose I can't blame the baby entirely for the amount of times that I head to the restroom a day {and in the middle of the night}. After all, I consume about this much water per day {and I'm not even exaggerating}....

The amount of water I consume is A LOT so it's obvious that I keep myself hydrated. Is it possible to float away? I can't get enough of water. And with fresh squeezed lemon it's all the more better. So I now keep lemon in the fridge.

About half way through my pregnancy I mentioned to my Doctor just how much water I was craving and consuming - I was a little worried it was a sign of something that may be "off" with me internally but all checked out normal.

Everything I've read, and from what my Dr. has said, lots of fluid intake {especially water} is great during pregnancy....so I'll keep chuggin' until I can't chug no more.

We Went Where? When?

I had a run in on Friday night. At around 11 p.m. I wasn't looking my best. In fact, I was wearing a pair of tattered black sweat pants that may have fully reached my ankles when I was thirteen years old {yes, I still have them because they are pefectly "worn in" by being washed at least three thousand and eight-four times - they are drawstring too by the way so they "give" if ya know what I mean and were large when I first got them one winter eons ago}. Anyhow, I had an impulse to leave the house Friday night - even though it was late. Very late. But the husband was in tow so I wasn't alone. When I got in the car he took one look at my hair {partially lumped up in a clip} and glanced at those tattered sweat pants and with a "don't take it personal because I love you" kind of laugh said, "um yeah, you're not getting out of the car". Did he just not-so-subtedly say he would be embarrased if he was seen with me? I let it slide...because afterall, he cut his movie short {with just 20 minutes left until the end} to take me to meet an acquaintance that I haven't had the pleasure of laying eyes on in a while...

The Blackout Cake at The Cheesecake Factory.

Yep. At 11:oo p.m. we got out of bed and drove about 7 miles to The Cheesecake Factory to fulfill a sudden pregnancy craving that just wouldn't go away. What a husband I have.

I stayed in the car while he went inside to get me the deepest, richest chocolate cake that I was yearning to delve into. Remembering his comment that I basically looked "tore up from the floor up {wow - how long has it been since you heard that?} I suppressed my urge to hop out of the car and declare to every by passer, "I'm with THAT guy....yep HIM...he's my HUSBAND!!". However, I couldn't chance him holding my chocolate cake hostage so I remained buckled in the car as instructed. Besides, it was a little windy out and I didn't want my hair to get ruined. Afterall, I spent all of three seconds putting it in that clip.

And those sweatpants...they just went in the wash for their three thousand and eight-fifth time. They will likely never see retirement.
